This week saw our last three proms for the 2010 season – Winstanley Community College Year 9 on campus, Humphrey Perkins School at the fantastic Leicester Tigers ground and Stonehill High School on campus.

All three events have been hectic but fantastic and we have been very well received by all.   Our service has been very popular as people get photos taken with their friends as memories forever.

Stonehill High School in Birstall yet again became our season finale, and they really went the extra mile this year with stilt walkers and fireaters to entertain throughout the night.  With the addition of a brilliant sounding school rock band, solo singers and more, it was a real treat to be there and be part of a wonderful night.

It was the turn of Stratford High to have their prom this week at the Stratford Manor, and it was another great occasion of fantastic dresses, wacky transportation and out and out oneupmanship.  I’m not sure now whether more money is spent on the dress or the car/motorbike/ice cream van/tractor….helicopter, but it is a spectacle not to be missed on  a hot and humid English summer evening.

For a change, here is a sneak peek behind the scenes at an English prom.

It has been a hot and hectic past few days with more proms completed – Aylesford 6th form, Trinity 6th Form, North Leamington Year 11 and Warwickshire College Hair & Beauty.  Another great crowd of people all ready to take their next steps in life.

Thursday also saw Princethorpe College’s Year 11 prom at the Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa.

This is our second year running attending Princethorpe’s Prom.  We had another hot room, but a great crowd who had a fun night celebrating their end of school.

Thursday night was the turn of Etone Community School and Technology College ‘s Year 11 prom, held for the second year running at the Heart of England Conference Centre.

The weather was extremely warm, and we had been given a room with little ventilation or air conditioning.  But the room was very spacious and ideal for our portable studio setup.  As is the norm with the Etone prom, we were extremely busy throughout the night and everyone had great fun getting their pictures taken in their suits and dresses.

We had a fantastic time last night at Trinity School’s year 11 prom at Chesford Grange, another of our regular events we love to attend.

Chesford Grange is a great prom venue as it is easy to get to, the staff are friendly and it has loads of space for us to setup our portable studio and printing stations.

Although the rain came before the event it did not dampen anyones spirits and a fun time was had by all.  Our cameras and printers were kept busy all night and left us looking forward to our next events.

Our first leavers ball for the 2010 season is now done and dusted, this time the first being a combined 6th form ball for Warwick School and Kings High, held at the Stratford Manor in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

This venue is a regular for us, and we met some familiar faces throughout the night.  With close to 200 people at the event  the room was packed, and with the DJ blasting out cool tunes on a hot night, everyone had a fantastic time.

After a full day shooting models at Superfly in Leicester, our last event of the weekend was a quick 5 minute walk down the road to the local casino where the Loughborough University volleyball squad were having an awards ceremony.

It was our first event at a casino so we were not sure what to expect, but the casino staff were great and we had a nice large area to setup our studio and photograph the different groups within the squad.

We started last weekend with a fund raiser event for Haselor School PTA at  the Kings Court Hotel in Studley. 

Our preferred location for any event is either in the same room as the guests or just outside.  On this occasion the hotel did not have the room to allocate us space nearby for our setup, but we did manage to bag a spare conference room downstairs.  Although out of the way, we got a good deal of visitors and everyone who had their photo taken enjoyed the experience.

Our second event of the weekend was the Leamington Rugby Union FC dinner dance.  Another enjoyable Saturday night with plenty of fun poses by the guests once the drink was flowing.  No kilts on this occasion but plenty of fun group shots of friends, family and acquaintances.
