Event-Pics attended the “Celebration of Multicultural Festivities” charity event in Leicester on Saturday 22nd November 2008.  This event was attended by a wide range of people living in Leicester, including dignatries from Leicester council and Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary for the UK.

With a fantastic Indian meal, wide ranging entertainment including Scotlands Strongest Man, Belly Dancing, Salsa Dancing and much more, everyone had a great time and raised lots of money for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and Wishes for Kids.

It was Daniel Cronin’s 21st Birthday Party on Saturday 25th October 2008 and Event-Pics attended to photograph guests throughout the evening.  The theme of the evening was Casino, with plenty of card tricks, casino tables and fancy dressing going on throughout the night. Friends of Daniel came from all over the UK and Europe and had a fantastic time drinking, dancing and having their photograph taken.  Good luck for your trip to Las Vegas !

Saturday 20th September 2008 saw Event-Pics  photographing the wedding of Will and Julia.  We know Julia primarily from  our long association with our event work with the Hilton so we were really pleased when Will and Julia chose us as their wedding photographers.

The wedding ceremony and reception was held at Fawsley Hall near Daventry, a fantastic country house hotel set in 2000 acres of Northamptonshire countryside.  The day stayed dry and bright, the guests really enjoyed themselves and Event-Pics shot some great images.  Congratulations to both Will and Julia.

The Para Dressage Training Trust (PDTT) held a ball at Ashorne Hill in Warwickshire on Saturday 2nd August 2008 to say good luck to the seven riders picked to compete in the Paralympic Games in Hong Kong in September.

Event-Pics photographed the event, including a team photo which was to be signed by all the competitors and auction off to raise funds for the trust.

Event-Pics finished off our prom season for 2008 on Thursday 10 July at Stonehill High School in Birstall, Leicester.  This was out first Year 9 prom, and the first prom for Stonehill High.  All the rest we have done this year have been Year 11, and we were not sure what to expect.  We needn’t have worried.  The attendees were fantastic, showing great creativity with their prom transportation, outfits and singing and dancing throughout the night.  Everyone really enjoyed themselves on a lovely summer’s night.  We have a few more photos to the blog for this event to give you a sense of the occassion.  We are already booked with Stonehill High for next year.  Looking forward to it already.  Check out the Event-Pics galleries section for more pics from the event.

 Event-Pics attended the Warwick College Hair and Beauty Ball at the Hilton Warwick on Saturday 5th July.  The Hilton Warwick is fast becoming our second home as it is a very popular venue for events throughout the year.  The staff are great and treat us very well, and the hotel is a great place to stay if visiting the local area of Warwick and Stratford.

The Hair and Beauty Ball was a great night and the photography proved very popular.  We did not stop all night.  With the photography, great music and lots of drink everyone went home tired but happy.  Check out our galleries to see these and other event photographs.

Rugby High School had their prom on Thursday 3rd July at Dunchurch Park Hotel and Event-Pics provided the photographs throughout the night.  Dunchurch Park Hotel is set in wonderful grounds with very picturesque scenery.  The prom was held in a large marquee in the hotel grounds.  We had loads of space to setup our portable studio with viewing station and printers and managed to create some great lighting.  Everyone had loads of fun and the night was a great success.  Check out this gallery and more.

I came across a lighthearted but slightly amusing article on the BBC’s website yesterday about school proms in the UK.  The American style school prom is definately growing in popularity and the amount of money individuals spend on the night is amazing.  Some people like to criticise these events as being ‘too American’ and a waste of money, but from what Event-Pics have seen the last couple of years it really is a fantastic opportunity for school leavers to have their night after years of working hard.  The look of excitement on their faces as they arrive and meet up with friends is great to watch.  The kids love it, so why not let them have their night of fun.  Full BBC article here.

Event-Pics had their fourth prom in a row on Sunday 29th June, this time with Stratford High School held at the fabulous Stratford Manor Hotel in Warwickshire.  The night started as it meant to go on, with the clock striking 7:00pm a long line of limos, executive and classic cars transporting the excited guests to their prom.  Both the cars and the people were all ‘blinged up’ to get people’s attention.  Lotsd of parents were outside photographing the goings on, and once inside Event-Pics started photographing the attendees using our individual style of modern high key portraiture with fun and relaxed poses.  We were extremely busy all night, with the queue not disappearing until midnight when the disco lights went off, the room lights went on and people started the journey home.  Hope to see you next year !

On Saturday 28th June Event-Pics were at Myton School’s James Bond themed Prom at the Hilton Warwick.  With close to 200 attendees it was a busy night but with some fun poses and people coming to us over and over again throughout the night we had a fantastic time and made some great friends.  Thanks also to the staff of the Hilton as they always look after us.
